A Fascinating Fashion Accessory from Sony Ericsson – The Jalou
Sony Ericsson is gaining a lot of marketing momentum with the release of innovative mobile phones this year. Hot on the heels of its Xperia and Satio models, we are looking at another exciting mobile phone. This time, it’s a fashion phone, the Jalou. The new fashion phone has already gathered a great following after product teases and leaks created so much speculation on the net. As expected, the launch of the Sony Ericsson Jalou this month ushered in so many unofficial hands-on reviews from various mobile phone websites. Here’s what can be gleaned from many of these reviews.
A Beautiful Fashion Phone with a lot of First
The Jalou comes in a clamshell design sculpted with gem-like facets on its body. It will reach its markets with a choice of three jewelry colors: Onyx Black, Aquamarine Blue and Deep Amethyst. At a handbag-friendly 84 grams and no larger than 73 mm tall when folded, the ladies might easily mistake this for their compact make-up.
Understandably so, its 2-inch QVGA screen doubles up as a compact mirror at a flick of a dedicated key – real novelty for a ladies trendy mobile phone. It’s also the first to feature the WalkMate pedometer that can be quite useful when jogging or taking a walk.
Going down to its features, as a fashion phone, don’t expect outstanding bells and whistles often reserved for flagship handsets. Apart from its so-so 2” screen, there’s a perfunctory CyberShot 3.2 megapixel camera, Walkman media player, video recording, a browser supporting YouTube and social networking applications. In addition, the Sony Ericsson Jalou has Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP and stereo FM radio. As a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and a triband UMTS with 3G/HSDPA high speed connectivity support, the Jalou is definitely a very current and capable fashion phone.
Enter Dolce & Gabbana
Oh and you’ll see a limited edition Sony Ericsson Jalou dressed up with a 24-k Gold trim around a gorgeous rose coloured body by no less than Dolce & Gabbana. You know them; they love to convert beautiful mobile handsets into upscale fashion accessories. An upscale price tag naturally goes with it.
