Sony Ericsson Xperia X3. Hurrah!

If you’ll excuse the mid-90’s action movie language, Sony Ericsson used to wind us the hell up. And why was that, you ask? Because of two little words. Well, two medium sized words. Proprietary technology. And before you could scrabbling for your dictionary of business terms (what do you mean, you don’t have a dictionary of business terms on your desk…) all that basically means is that Sony Ericsson phones have until now required you to buy Sony Ericsson memory cards, and Sony Ericsson headphones, and Sony Ericsson… well, you get the point.

But, finally, they’ve listened and phones such as the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 come with standard 3.5mm sockets for whatever headphones you want, and have slots for the standard (and cheap) microSD cards for upping the memory capacity. Hurrah, say we. And hurrah too for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 in general, which looks like it’s going to be something kinda special. Details are still a little fuzzy around the edges (have a look at this Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 review for what’s known for sure about this thing), but as a re-skinned Google Android phone with a very decent 8MP camera and a 4-inch touchscreen, we can’t actually see any chinks in the armour at all.

Light on firm details as we are, we’ll leave you with this sneaky peek video of what the UI is going to look like. And have a look at these Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 deals too.
