The new Idou

Sony Ericsson’s latest prototype smartphone is Idou. SE announced about this phone right before the Mobile World Conference 2009. Now let’s look at the features of this device. According to The Telegraph it proudly carries a 12.1MP primary camera with autofocus, face & smile detection and Xenon flash. The image output is of 4000×3000pixels resolution. There is a separate Video LED flash for video purposes. Further, there’s a secondary camera at the front for video call purposes.
Running on the 1st version of Symbian Foundation, based on the latest technology from S60 5.0 this phone has got a 3.5inch 16m color touchscreen which has an accelerometer sensor. The phone is 111×54x15 mm of size, however the weight is not known yet. Connectivity-wise it’s quad band on GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and dual band on 3G 900/2100MHz with HSDPA. The phone book comes with the photo call feature and you can store unlimited number of items in it. Memory can be extended by using the microSD slot. You’ll also have easy access to download data from Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow application. Another significant advantage is the ability to connect your phone to the home devices such as the TV, HiFi sound system and PC. In terms of data transfer there’s WiFi and 2.0 Bluetooth with A2DP. SE will release this in the 3rd quarter of 2009 under its Entertainment Unlimited label.
