Vivaz Coming to the UK Via 3 Mobile, Comes with Spotify
There is a new Spotify offer from 3 for anyone who is planning to get the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Symbian smart phone from the mobile virtual network operator. The streaming service is being offered at a cheap price of just £9.99 per month aside from the basic £35 monthly tariff. If that might seem costly, it pays to remember that Spotify delivers streaming music at 320 kbps which is CD quality audio, a great deal for all music lovers.
3 already gave a similar offer for the Android smart phone, HTC Hero, though with the kind of people inclined to get the Hero, music streaming is hardly much needed. With the Vivaz however, this is different. While the open source Hero targets tech geeks who would rather spend extra money on apps and other features, the Vivaz is made for the more artistic types who are more likely to appreciate good music. With the phone’s 8.1 mega pixel camera with 720p HD recording, it makes perfect sense that those with the knack for visual arts would go for this device.
In other Sony Ericsson news, the XPERIA X10 is also expected to come out at April (around the same time as the Vivaz). Vodafone is already confirmed to be offering the Snapdragon Android smart phone to its clients. No word yet on when the Vivaz Pro, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro will be launched, but with the original devices coming out next month, it is likely that we see the other editions by June or July.
The Vivaz Pro is an excellent smart phone for heavy texters and email users for its slide out QWERTY keyboard. The phone has all the original specs of the Vivaz but instead of an 8.1 mega pixel camera, the Pro will only have a 5 mega pixel camera with 720 p video recording.
