Sony Ericsson Satio Sales Suspended

Sony Ericsson Satio“Buggy” software was the term used for the withdrawal of sales for the Sony Ericsson Satio by Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u.

Sales of this mobile device have come to a halt temporarily until Sony Ericsson outlays a way for fixing the issues raised by customers. Some of these issues range from slowness down to powering down of the device. It is most likely that it is a hardware issue as even a comprehensive firmware upgrade is unlikely to fix the problem.

Richard Dorman, Sony Ericsson’s Senior marketing Manager spoke to The Times. He said “Sales of the product have been very strong and we expect them to remain strong once the problem has been fixed.”

In a similar story, T3.com claimed that the withdrawal of the phone from the two key shops may well have an adverse effect on the sales of this device. They said that this is “made worse by the over-enthusiastic advertising of the Satio, which shows several cheerful people bouncing about on spacehoppers taking photos of each other on the Satio.”

Anyway, this isn’t a widespread decision as it was observed that Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange were still offering the device for sale.
